Have you had a chance to check out one of my fabulous sponsors, Cascade Refining, found here?
They are an established company that gives you the best prices for your old jewelry.  What a great way to turn that old gold, silver, platinum, and palladium into some useful cash!  Be sure to request a free mailer kit to assist in sending them your old jewelry.  You may be surprised at how much your old jewelry is really worth…

I have loved this little mini series we have had with Kate and Sara from Our Best Bites.
(For the whole series, click here.)

I guess they have enough of their own blogging to do, so they can’t hang out here with me forever.  (Though I wish they would.  In my kitchen.  Ready and willing to make my family dinner.  Every.  Night.  Ha!)  But our sweet ‘Kids in the Kitchen’ series with them has come to a close.  Darn.  But haven’t you gathered some of the most useful information from them?  Some things, I never would have thought of.  So thank you Kate and Sara.  I love that you have showered us with some great kid+food inspiration………and shared your lovely personalities right along with it.  I could eat you both up.  (Do you dare put it past me?  Remember how I’m very pregnant?)

Today is our last segment from them…….so I’ll stop chatting so you guys can jump right in.
Thanks again and best of luck to you with wire wisks/measuring spoons in hand.

~Ashley

And just a little teaser……be sure to check back tomorrow for a chance to win a special little gift from Kate and Sara…………for 3 of you little luckies. Shhhh……that’s all I’m going to say.

We’ve had SO much fun over here on Make it and Love it.  We thought we’d finish off our Mini Series by showing you that involving kids in the kitchen doesn’t always have to involve eating!  Sometimes it’s perfectly acceptable to play with your food!  Here are some of our most favorite kids crafts.  Stow these away in your brain to pull out on a rainy (or not-so-rainy) day!

First of all, since Easter is coming up, I have to show you my most favorite egg dying technique.  It doubles as a great way to clean out your man’s closet because it involves dying eggs with old pieces of silk (ugly ties here we come!)  The picture on the left is the tie that I used (I swear that did not belong to my husband!)  And you can see the resulting egg on the right.  Cool, huh?
One of my kids’ most favorite things to do is make Peanut Butter Playdough.  Not gonna lie; this stuff tastes really good.  So roll, cut and don’t be afraid to snack!
I have three boys so anything that can resemble something gross is a big hit.  Slime, check.
Little tiny fingers will love feeling the texture of Homemade Finger Paint- and it’s non-toxic so no worries if it ends up in their mouth!
I love making Shrunken Heads at Halloween, but it’s actually a fun craft any time of year!  Let little kiddos draw on the apples and you can help carve them out.  It’s great to use on apples that are still semi-crisp but just a little to old to eat.
Amaze your kiddos (and maybe your spouse??) with drinks that glow!
And if they’re wowed by glowing drinks, then glowing Jello will really knock their socks off!
Lastly, here’s a quick and easy one.  I love to do this after finding sippy cups of milk that aren’t chunky yet, but I know are too old to drink.  Yes, I am fully aware of how gross that sentence is.  Spoken by a true Mom!

Once again, thanks to Ashley for letting us crash her blog!  It’s been so fun!  We hope you’ve enjoyed it too and that you’ve taken note of some fun ideas that will help your kiddos get involved in the kitchen!

Holy smokes… I am so relieved to know I'm not the only mom who suffers from left-out-sippy-cup depression! It made me feel like a bad mom but I guess a lot of us accidentally do it!
