Craft Room, Part 2
Did you see Part 1 of my Craft Room?
Good ‘ol cardboard…
For today?
An inexpensive clock……fancied up a bit.
And again, lots of color. Yum, I can’t help it.
And the sweet thing sits above a shelf right in my craft room…
Which hovers above my sewing machine.
A girl’s gotta keep track of time while stitching her evenings away…
Want to change the look of your own clock?
Start with a clock with a flat front. I found this one at Ikea for gosh, $5 I think. Not much…
(If you don’t have a flat front clock, you could use a more textured one but use paint to give the clock a new look and then add embellishments of some sort.) Take off the cover if applicable.
Use a piece of fabric that is larger than the clock and then use the plastic cover to trace the hole that you’ll need to cut out.
Then apply a moderate layer of Mod Podge right to the clock. Then lay your fabric right on top and smooth out with your fingers. (make sure to line up the fabric with the inner edge of the clock.)
Then let it sit until it’s mostly dry, then trim the edges of the fabric off.
Next, apply a generous layer of Mod Podge right on top of the fabric, making sure to use plenty around the edges, so that it seals right to the clock. Smooth any bubbled edges with your fingers.
Allow to dry completely.
Then I added some little flowers like shown here.
And I attached them with a bit of hot glue.
(I know, you all must be tired of these flowers…..but I’m on a kick with them, and there are a few more to come. Hang in there……I can’t help it.)

And that’s it.
Nice and sweet and perfect for a variety of rooms.

Gorgeous clock. My daughter and I were making these a couple weeks ago, though we decorated the face rather than the edges. I love your version.
I love it! I love how bold you are with color. I adore color but am too chicken to change something when it's in perfectly good condition to begin with. You give me courage. I just might de-blah my house yet! :)
I'd love to see how your craft room is laid out. We're in the procees of converting an extra room into sewing/office. Details please!

this is so cool! i am new to mod podge (its not very well known here in new zealand), when putting fabric onto something like this clock, do you use fabric mod podge or can you use just gloss?
How pretty! I was just thinking about how I needed a colorful clock in my craft room. This idea is perfect! Thanks!
Ooh love that clock. I have an old children's clock in my scrap room that desparately needs a modge podge facelift!
