Hello Make It and Love It readers! It’s Emma from Crafting{E} again, and I have a great project for you today!

If you haven’t noticed (by all the other posts I have shared on here) I REALLY love holidays. I love how special life feels when a holiday is coming up. I love being with family and showing my loved ones how much they mean to me.

It’s sad to me how I see people focus on the superficial parts of holidays: Santa and presents at Christmas, the Easter bunny on Easter, etc.

Although I feel like Valentine’s is like this in a lot of ways, I love the meaning behind the holiday.  One of my favorite things to do is to show my friends and family members how much I love them.

The project I’m sharing today, a Valentine’s Day advent calendar, is perfect for this. It’s a pretty simple idea: each one of the cups can be filled with goodies or a nice note, and each day leading up to Valentine’s Day you get to “punch” open a new cup and see what’s inside.

In hindsight I wouldn’t of used clear cups because then you can see what’s inside. But the cups are covered with tissue paper that is secured to the cup with a rubber band.

I actually PRINTED right onto the tissue paper on each of the cups. I think it looks SO cool and let me tell you… it’s not hard at all. I’m also giving you guys the files with the numbers on the for free so you can make your own countdown!

Supplies:

  • White tissue paper
  • Piece of white card stock paper
  • Painters tape or washi tape
  • Goodies to go inside the cups
  • String or rubber bands
  • (Optional) board to put all the cups onto

Directions:

  • First, cut the tissue paper so that it is slightly smaller than the size of your piece of card stock
  • Attach the tissue paper to the card stock with painters tape or washi tape.

  • Send the paper/tissue paper through the printer and print the numbers onto it. You can download the designs I used on my cups at the end of the post!

  • Remove the tissue paper from the card stock and cut the two numbers apart.

  • Fill the cup with goodies and put the tissue paper on top of the cup and use a rubber band  or string to secure it on top of the cup. I started off using string, but I ended up using rubber bands because I found it to be a lot easier.
