Wow, lots to be thankful for… (plus, a little treat at the end)

This morning, I woke up with extra family here in our home.  It feels good to have a house full…..even if I forgot to put clean sheets on the guest bed until after they arrived.  Ooops.  And forgot to buy extra cereal and milk for breakfast this morning.  (No one actually makes breakfast Thanksgiving morning, do they?  Because if so, I need to take a few hosting lessons.)

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’m just grateful my family comes to visit, clean sheets or not.  Breakfast or none. ;)

I know today is the day everyone (in the U.S.) compiles those gratitude lists but I won’t make you sit through my entire list.  But I do have to say that these little nuggets would take up three of the bullet points on my list.  Their daddy would take up a 4th one! :)  (If you’re dying to know more on my list……I’ll send you an email! ;)

But I did hop on here really quickly to bring up one more thing……I’m pretty darn grateful to have this little outlet of mine.  A place to experiment with ideas in my brain, correspond with bloggy friends from all over the world, learn new tips and ideas from others, and share my projects…..even if they’re, well, not so good.  Thanks for being so tender with my heart, even if you don’t care for what I’ve made. :)

I sometimes ask my husband to pinch me, because it’s pretty dreamy to have a place where I can blog about what I love.  And to have such appreciative readers who are genuinely grateful.  And so sweet.  I’m not kidding, I really chat with my husband about this and kinda shrug my shoulders in disbelief.  It sometimes doesn’t feel real……..because, come on, what could be more fun.  And fulfilling.  I literally find myself saying, “oooooh, I want to try making that!  And once I figure it out…….I’m totally sharing.  Maybe someone else will want to know!”  Blogging gives me extra motivation and excitement to do something I’m already pretty passionate above.  What a bonus!  So, really, thank you again for riding along with me for the past few years.  Unless you just found this ol’ blog yesterday…….then thanks for riding along since yesterday!;)

Wow, that turned out to me a lot more wordy than I intended it to be.  Maybe I should’ve just written out a typical “gratitude list”. ;)

Anyway, I have a few things I’m going to be sharing and mailing out to some of you next week (sorry, totally spoiled that surprise) but I didn’t have everything together for today.  But I still wanted to come on today to say a big thanks!

So, you know how I have that sweet little shop where I have 7 patterns sitting in there?  Well, I have dreams for that little shop.  I want to have many, MANY more patterns in there.  Free patterns are fun but it’s sometimes nice to have actual complete patterns with pattern pieces and sizes, etc.  I know, I get that!  But, well, filling up that shop with more patterns just isn’t as high on the To-Do right now.  (Because I have too much fun making Halloween costumes, or baby gifts, or holiday decor.)  But one day that little shop will grow to more than what’s in there:

But, the patterns that are in there are still pretty fun.  They are computer files that I send to your email (well, they’re actually sent to you automatically….so you don’t have to wait for me anymore.  whew!)  But they are a great way for those who want to start learning how to use a pattern.  Because they’re not like your regular ol’ store bought patterns.  They are written kind of like my blog posts here; with lots of pictures and detailed instructions and different sizes to cut out.  Then, once you get the hang of using pattern pieces and sewing them together, maybe it’ll help you become comfortable enough to tackle some of those more vague (and sometimes tricky verbiage) store bought patterns.  Maybe??

Don’t try and reply to this email.)
  • Then, give yourself a little hug from me.  And tell yourself thanks for the bloggy love!  Because that’s what I’d do if you were right here. :)
