The Life of a 1-Week-Old

Life is busy for our little 1-week-old. She has a lot to accomplish each day.

Such as staring out the window at the early morning sun. There’s a lot for those adjusting eyes to figure out.
And resting her sweet little head, while digesting her breakfast. That belly is always hard at work.
(Nothing’s cuter than a little milky drool, right?)
And throwing out a grin or two. Gas related? Probably.
But she tends to turn up the corners of that mouth when I tickle her chubby cheeks.
(11 pound babies come out knowing how to smile, I guess.)
She also tries so hard to figure out who’s talking to her and what we may be telling her. And possibly wonders why we’re constantly gushing over her and smothering her poor squishy cheeks with kisses.

It’s also a lot of work to fill that diaper. But with a little concentration, she’s mastering that task quite well.
After all that, she usually needs a little break…….and passes out for a while.
After a long nap, she repeats the above tasks several times throughout the day………and then we start again the next day.
Yep, she stays pretty busy.
It’s hard work being a newborn.
And we love that she’s getting the hang of it here in our home.

Very Very Sweet! My second was 10lb 6oz and it was like bringing home a 2 month old. He smiled a few days after he was home. Now with my third born at a whopping 7lb 7oz it is quite a difference.
I love those sweet cheeks!!! There is nothing better than kissing such soft squishy cheeks! My little guy has a pretty good set himself :)

She is absolutely beautiful and adorable! Seeing her makes me think about having another baby, but I already have four kids that I can barely handle! I have big babies too (9-11 lbs), it is the best, I wouldn't want it any other way! Congrats on your beautiful family!

She is beautiful. I can't believe she weighed 11 pounds. You are awesome. Baby number 3 was magic for me. I hope you find her to be the same way. There is something about the third child that really makes you feel like a mother.

She's so adorable! And so alert to only be 1 week old. She has such pretty eyes….
What a doll……I just backtracked and saw that she was a whopping 11 lbs……I have 5 babies…..they ranged from 9'1-11'4….. they induced me with my last 10 days early and he was 9'4….. pretty sure if we had waited he would have gotten the weight record……. my biggest were the easiest deliveries too!!!

Have only just comae across your blog today – so congratulations. I am in awe -as I too had an 11 pound baby -my first born boy. 3 days overdue – no labour after a serious hard core induction – so c-section. I am impressed you got her out as I appreciate how large she is too other babies. My son shared the nursery with a set of twins that combined weight wasnt 11 pounds so he looked huge (fortunately for me my babies got smaller after that

I had to comment though, did you say she was eleven lbs! Way to go mom! That is hard work!… I was eleven lbs, and I feel bad for my mother!
