!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GIVEAWAY CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love to make new things.
But sometimes the pile of new things grows and grows…….and never gets put to good use.
So sad.
I usually have a purpose for whatever project I’m working on.  But sometimes I change my mind, sometimes my gift idea for a particular person suddenly morphs into something else, and sometimes I just wanted to see if I could make something, well, just because.   The end.
And what happens to those little projects?
Well, they just sit.  And wait.
So why not unload several of them on you……….right this minute?
And why not?  I love gift giving at this time of year.  Especially to the un-expectant.  (That’s you, right?)
The only bummer in all of this, is that I won’t be able to hand deliver them to you…….or give you that little I-think-you’re-great squeeze.  Or chat about life/traditions/Dr. appts/local sales/new recipes/funny moments……..like I’d like to.  Bummer.
But, I can pretend.
So, here are a few things that have piled up………..
………..that I’d love to mail out to several of you.
Hopefully in time for Christmas.  But no promises.  Whew, that’s too much pressure.

Most are pretty simple little things……..but all would be so much happier with several of you.
What’s in my pile?
A cozy flannel scarf……with several lovely ruffles at each end.
Well, actually 2 of them.  One in a gray blue and the other in a vivid red.  2 of you will be receiving one of these little lovelies.
2 gift card cozies……ready for sliding a gift card in, and then gifting to someone else.
Remember, I made a set of three cozies in this post?
Well, I gave one away but have 2 remaining.  Need ’em?  One person will get both.
Maybe one of you would like this little sling purse, made from a sweater (tutorial here).  It will feel much more loved with one of you.  And hopefully that cheery little flower will put a little kick in your step.
It’s a snap closure and no pockets inside.  Super basic.
How about one of these little zippered pouches (tutorial here)?
Do you have just the need for one of your very own?
I will send these out separately…….and share the love with 3 of you.
They really could be used for anything……..craft supplies, make-up, jewelry, treats, pens/pencils, etc.
Hmmmm……..who’s in need of a new purse?
Here’s the completed Darla Purse  (made from my Darla Purse pattern found in my shop here)……….that really just needs some love.  She hangs in my craft closet, waiting for the perfect new owner………and the time has come.
(I talk like she’s real…….is that weird?)
There are two velcro pockets on the inside and a snap closure.
And by the way, the main body of the purse measures about 15 tall x 18 inches wide at the base.

And for those of you who like to sew……..a few patterns.  Just thrown in for fun.
5 of you will receive a pattern (of your choice) from my shop.
So not the actual items…….just the PDF pattern, that will be sent to you through email.
Most include over 25 pages of very detailed instructions and photos.
All patterns choices can be found here.

And that’s it.

13 winners total.

That should clear out some space for me.

I really wish I had something for you all.  Because I really do have a ball with this site and appreciate you stopping by.  You readers are what makes this crazy blogging thing fun for me.  Seriously.
So these little treasures are also a way to say thank you for hanging out with me here and there while I post about this crazy new idea or that one.  And thanks for never calling me crazy out loud.  I leave that up to my husband after I tell him I’m going to turn a toilet seat into a mantel piece…….or something similarly crazy. Ha!  (I better go write that down!!!!  Hurry……  Heh, heh!)
Anyway, onto the good stuff…

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GIVEAWAY CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to enter?
  • Just leave me a comment, telling me what item(s) you’d like most, along with your email address.  Otherwise, I can’t contact you.  (If you want to change the format a bit so it’s not traceable…..go ahead.  Example: makeitandloveit (at) gmail (dot) com.)
  • Then the fun part for me.  Tell me something, anything.  You know, like you’ve just plopped down on my couch, ready for a nice chat…  Share with me your fave YouTube video, your favorite flavor of toothpaste, what your child wants for Christmas, how far you hiked the other day, how you like to cook your turkey, what your favorite type of candy is (snickers…no, cinnamon bears…no, cadbury mini eggs……Yum!), what makes you most happy in this world, how you got that stain out of your carpet, etc.  Really, just tell me anything…..no stress.
  • That’s it.  Just one comment per person……..with your choice of item, your email address, and little something to share.
Not sure how to leave a comment?
Make sure you are at the Make It and Love It site (not reading from an email or google reader) and scroll down to the bottom of the post.  You will see in smaller print, “Posted By Ashley”, then a time, and then the word “Comments” with a number by it.  That number signifies how many people have left comments.  Click on the word “Comments” and a new screen will pop up.  On the right side, there is an empty white box where you can leave a comment, enter your info below it, and then publish your comment.  Your comment will appear at the bottom of the list of comments.  That’s it.
Questions?  Email me at makeitandloveit(at)gmail(dot)com
This is a quick little giveaway…….so it will close by Sunday night (Dec. 19th) at midnight, EST.  Only 2 days from now.  That way I can hopefully drop them all off at the post office on Monday morning.
Thanks for sharing……and thanks for de-cluttering with me.

Amazing, I may be the first to comment. My first choice would be the cute red scarf, but I really do need a purse. Easy to please.

Now the fun part – My favorite part of Christmas is snuggling up with all four kids and the hubby reading Christmas stories around the lit tree every night.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

My initial favorite was the blue gray scarf, but I also really love the zippered pouches. I'm a little scared of sewing with zippers so I haven't made one yet! hahaha

Something fun – here in VA we got snow yesterday (VERY unusual for this area!) which got me out of work and I got to spend the whole day cuddling, playing, and crafting for my little one on her 6 month birthday! And we're out again today! I'm off to cuddle some more until nap time, then maybe I'll tackle something with zippers… or not!

Those scarves sure look cuddly. I'm all about keeping warm! Of course, I have a million uses for zipper pouches too.

My 11 month old wakes up with me every morning – no matter the time. But not this morning, I have a few minutes of hands free quiet to get a few things done!

I'd like to wn the brandley booties or tie pattern. I'm finally finding that I have a little extra time every now and then and could start sewing some special stuff for our little dude!

Now for the fun part… I dreamed last night that he started walking and pulled down the Christmas tree…. eeeek!

Sweet! I love the sling purse, darla purse, scarfs, and any of the patters (in order of what I like or should I say need.)

Hm…couch talk. Let's see. I've been attempting to run this holiday season and I have been going 2 miles everyday so far. That's all I have to do is 2 miles. If I feel like going farther, that is fine, but I must do 2 miles. Then I don't feel as guilty about the fun holiday treats.

Oh wow, I would LOVE one of the scarfs, the Darla purse, or a pattern…..too many great options!

One of my favorite things about the holidays? How my family INSISTS I make fudge for them every year, even though I now live several states away and have to drive 11 hours to bring it to them. They love the old classic Kraft Fantasy Fudge recipe so much they won't even let me try a new one, it has to be the kind with the marshmallow fluff that my (late) mother used to make. It's become a game now, I hide the fudge when I arrive and they act like they won't let me in the door until I produce it ;)

Wow. How sweet of you!! I've so enjoyed reading and following your blog. In fact, I've been so inspired that I've added a sewing machine to my Christmas wish list :) I know nothing about sewing right now, but hope to learn and make some of the things- I just LOVE the owl you just posted a couple of days ago. We are in the waiting part of an Ethiopian adoption, and I'm just dying to make some cute girlie things to put aside for our little girl… My favorites are the scarf and the purses… But all of the things are super cute!! Thanks so much for the giveaway :)

hmm…I just checked and I don't think you have any barf stories yet…so: I've barfed on my birthday (which was 2 days ago!) enough times that at one point a former boyfriend started calling it my "barf-day". He's long gone, but my friends and family still like to tease me about that. (just so nobody thinks I'm a wino, none of it was alcohol-related barfing, just a mixture of stomach bug, too much candy, food poisoning, etc.)

Then another daughter might come in the spring with her baby. I am so looking forward to all of these visits. I am planning lots of sewing projects for them….Owls for my daughter, nighties for the little girls, stuffed animals and a blessing gown. I am rich…..in blessings!!!!

Those scarves are fantastic! And well, I really have a problem collecting purses, and that sling purse would be a darling thing to add :)

I am in medical school, so I take time on the weekends to de-stress by crafting and baking. I am currently making tons of slippers out of old felted sweaters. And I just made some rocky road bars that are heavenly!

    I can sweetened condensed milk
    1 bag chocolate chips
    2 T butter

Melt on stove, and then stir in 1 bag marshmallows and 1 large jar peanuts. Spread in a 9×13 pan and then set in the fridge overnight!

Hello! :) I suppose that I have to admit I really love winter. Most people seem to haaaaaaaaaaate winter with all the snow and gray skies, but, honestly, I love staying at home, snuggling up with hot chocolate after playing in the snow with my Sesame and just staying warm! I may also find it humorous to watch my dog attempt to make it around in the snow filled backyard. hehe. :) If I had to choose one of the items…the gift card cozies. They're just adorable and I have a couple to give away! :) Merry Christmas!

What a lovely Christmas idea! You get to give presents AND you get more space in your craft room. :) I love that sling purse you made. I have a red sweater in my stash I could use for the same thing, but I'm not a "red" kinda girl.

Fun thing? Hmm. Well, we're part of a very new church, and there have been some people interested in participating in a Christmas choir. It's been over 3 yrs since I last sang in one, so I turn into a complete geek, absolutely giddy to get to a rehearsal. I even get to direct the group. I didn't know I'd missed it so much!

    Thanks!

I would love a scarf. I just moved to freezing cold Michigan and have become obsessed with scarves. I never understood their importance in winter dress till I moved here.

Something fun…er funny…I am off to wrap my own Christmas presents. My husband ordered all my gifts off of Amazon this year. They came in two boxes, and instead of him wrapping them individually, he has talking me into just wrapping the two boxes. This whole thing is is way on "simplifying" Christmas. (As if he ever did that much, right??) You've got to give him points for getting the gifts here a whole week before Christmas! (Got to love him!)

He's getting Gator jammies because he's a big Fla. Gator fan (some of his relatives went there and live near there) and because it matches the Gator quilt I made him as well. A bit o' chat….my lovely, 10 mo old daughter was kind enough to help knock a full 2L of soda off the counter on to my bare foot. Yup, it's swollen and black and blue and painful. Usually not a big deal but I bought the cutest opentoe shoes to wear for our christmas parties —- ah, maybe next year. :)

My first choice would be one of the zippered pouches, the one with the snowflakes! :) But those ruffled scarves are awesome as well!!! :) jacknaerynsmom (at) gmail (dot) come is my email address. :)

This has been a trying year, but through the difficulties, an exciting thing has happened! I have been losing weight!!!! I am on weight watchers and have lost 29 pounds so far (since early June), I reached my 10% goal this past week and I am thrilled about that and want to scream it from the rooftops. I have been wanting to lose all this weight for many, many years and it is finally happening! YEAH!!!!! And my baby boy turned 7 this past week.

So many lovely things in this giveaway, it's hard to choose just one. I'm so drawn to those ruffle scarves, but also to the sweater purse (I'm a full-time diaper bag carrier, and it would be nice to have a bag just for me).

Here's something fun: My one year old is going to walk any day. Right now I'm watching her cruise around the coffee table, chasing after the toys her big brother REALLY doesn't want her to get a hold of. It's a pretty fun thing to watch. :-)

Thanks for all the beautiful inspiration you send our way.

I could definitely find something to tuck into a little zippered pouch.

Yesterday I sat down at my sewing machine with the intention of making a few little bird softies to give as Christmas gifts and instead I spent the entire afternoon making a figure 8 scarf for myself out of some of my daughter's old t-shirts.

Something about me – I'm staying at my parent's house with my 2 kids for Christmas vacation and so far one or both of my kids have woken up every night we've been here (which they don't do at home), making it a little less of a vacation as I'm slowly becoming more and more tired…am I even making sense?

You are so kind! My favorites are the sling/sweater purse (I keep wishing I had a sweater for that purpose… maybe a trip to Goodwill) or the pattern for the little boy tie. I'm tired of spending $7.50 (or less if I'm lucky) at Children's Place so my little one can look daper with a tie on Sundays.

So anything…hmm. Right now I'm organizing the agenda for when my family comes into town for Christmas (I'm the only sibling that lives near the parents). In the process, I think I've discovered that I might enjoy the ORGANIZING more than the actual events. And I'm judging myself for that one. So new goal: live in the moment. We'll see how that goes!

I'm loving this giveaway because I love your stuff! How exciting! I have a hard time deciding what I like best, but I think my top choices are the sling purse or one of the scarves (I like both colors), BUT I'd be happy with any of them. If I won a pattern, I think I'd like the pattern to the Darla purse or the Lil' Guy Tie.

And because this video always makes me laugh, here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atBg9zLI2bA.

A hard choice to pick, but I really love the Little Guy Tie PDF. What a nice thing to do at Christmas.

Something Fun? Our family tradition is to open 1 present each and 1 for the fam on Christmas Eve, pj's and a move, then we make snacks, wear our new jams, watch a movie and wait for Santa.

The sweater sling purse!!!! I've been dreaming of that thing since you made it. I love the orange fabric inside.

I started working out again- I love it and cannot believe how much I missed it. Um, we are trying to sell our house soon and I dread it. I wish we didn't have to move to get in a better school district. Or maybe I wish we had enough money to give it away so there wasn't any stress associated with it.

oh, my goodness, you mean I really have to choose just one????!!!!! Hmmm. I need a pretty scarf… and I Love that sling bag… and the booties- my baby boy needs some soft little shoes like those, they are great!!! and for my sharing… I'm a procrastinator! I love to sew, but my time management skills are… on the top shelf at the back of my closet; I still have most of my list of christmas presents left to sew! [email protected]

This holiday has been a bit of a bummer because the hubs works for FedEx, and this is their peak season… sooooo… you can imagine the extra hours he is working right now means… not a lot of time for his new wife. sigh. But last night when he got home i was ready for bed, and he crawled into bed and we lay awake for a long time talking about what we want for Christmas… acting like little kids about it. It really was a treat to spend a little time together. :)

Oooooh, I would love the zippered pouches! That would be one for each kid around here. They look scrumptiously cute.

My kids are 3, 2, and 10.5 months, and I have loved seeing them react to everything Christmas this year …. EXCEPT it bugs me so bad that little fingers have messed up the spacing and ordering of the ornaments on the bottom of my tree. Isn't that so pathetic? Merry Christmas!

I would love the gift card cozies – they are so cute!!

So I have made a promise to myself that this year I will make all of the presents that I'm giving – which requires a lot of sewing. And every time I get everything out and ready to sew my cute cat manages to sit on exactly what I need to get the job done. And who can resist an adorable purring cat? So needless to say I'm very far behind! Ah well, I think I work better under pressure anyways.

I could really use that tie pattern, in face I've considered purchasing it several times but then I would have to make some and I haven't had time quite yet with Christmas and all. You see my 3 yr old boy keeps shooting up like a weed and his tie always seems to be too short even if I just bought it 2 weeks ago. :)

My second choice would have to be that blue scarf. So pretty!

As far as what's going on, well I'm getting super excited to get my first DSLR camera for Christmas the Cannon T1i. Then I can take super great pictures of my super cute kids! (and friends and family cause they've already been requesting me. :) ) Yay Christmas!

And tell you ANYTHING? That's really open ended…well, I guess that today I am really excited, because my hubby and I are going out with some friends to the Nutcracker in downtown Pittsburgh. My husband has never seen it before, and it's been about 10 years since I've seen it myself. Should be fun!

So I just sat there with my head hanging for a minute until my sweet Penny Pup walked over and gave me a big sloppy kiss, from my chin to my forehead. It was simultaneously sweet AND disgusting, and it gave me the giggles and the boost I needed to get through my to-do list.

Here we are, a week before Christmas, and we still haven't put up our tree. We don't do real trees, so that's not even the reason, it's just that we won't be at our house for Christmas this year & at the beginning of December I wasn't in the mood to decorate. Now that I am, it seems a bit pointless to put it all up this weekend when we'll be leaving next Thursday!

And just decorating my house would be so great! I am a newlywed and you can tell our house was decorated by my husband. I haven't had time though because I work 40 hours a week, I am working on opening my own cake decorating business so I do cakes 30-40 hours a week, and I start school in two weeks. Ah!! Oh my goodness! How much fun!!! I love the Scarfs, but then I love the sweater purse … oh my goodness I love all of the items … your talent always inspires me …

OK … something to tell you … well I guess it will have to be about these "…" – as you can tell I use them a lot – it is how I talk … kind of in fragments … kind of excited … well I text with them as well and my 18 and 17 year old children informed me (after MANY texts) that in texting they signal something ominous and whenever I use them they think it is kind of like "waiting for the hammer to drop" … I DIDN'T KNOW … I've tried really hard to stop, but I don't think I am very successful :)

Merry Christmas! Hope it is filled with HOPE from Christ above!

Seriously, I'd take any one of these fun things! But if I had to choose my favorites would be a scarf or the tie pattern . . . or a purse . . .

I'm in the process of making one of your sweater sling purses. I have this sweater that I bought when I was in college and I love the colors so much that even though it's out of style and a little too small, I haven't been able to part with it. So your purse tutorial was the perfect solution to getting it out of my closet, and now it makes me happy in a completely useful way. At least it will when I get it done. ;)

    Couch talk:
I am fairly new to the worlds of sewing and crochet, but I have been crafting for as long as I remember. Lately I'm a little addicted. Some are chocoholics (I'm a liitle bit of that one, too), some are bakeaholics, and some are craftaholics. Hello, my name is Laura, and I'm a craftaholic. :) I love crafting, because Its worship to me. It helps me understand God as creator. He delights in His creation. Sometimes it's hard to see how something will come together for the Creator's purposes, but he can always see the big picture through the liitle details and pieces. I can now see how it's loving and good to press the wrinkles out of us sometimes or press us with a little heat to heal holes/wounds. Every time I handcraft something for someone, I feel like I'm passing on God's love and inviting the recipient to worship with me. :)

Ashlee, you are so wonderful! I love all your projects, but just don't get the time to try them all out! My first choice would be the blue scarf – just perfect for an Idaho winter! My e-mail is christine(dot)skousen(at)gmail(dot)com.
My little tidbit to share with you is I first started following your blog about two years ago when I was expecting our second and I went to town making all sorts of baby things. Unfortunately, our daughter passed away a month after she was born and I haven't really done any projects since – it just hurt too much. After a year, we decided to try again, but miscarried at four months. We are now pregnant again and just found out we are having another little girl and I am excited to get back on the sewing machine to make cute little items for our next little one. This is where the pattern comes in – I would love to try something new, but am too cheap to pay for a pattern (is that terrible or what?) so getting one of yours for free to start off my project-making again after nearly two years would be fantastic!!! Thanks so much for all you do to share your wonderful talents with all of us to aspire to be as crafty!

Each person gets $5 per person to spend–that's all, plus you can use anything you find around the house. It has been so much fun to see what creative ideas my kids have come up with! I so enjoy reading your posts! You have a fresh style that just makes me want to go out and make something.

I love the scarves. Soft and ruffles – how fun is that? But I think I'd really have to vote for the boy booties pattern or the little guy tie pattern.

Scarves are fun and girly, but let's be real. I have seven sons. (Yes, really) My twin babies need something to keep their manly little tootsies warm during the winter months. On the other hand, what would be cuter (ahem, I mean, "handsomer") than all of my guys in matching ties? I love making things for my darling sons (including the ones who are old enough to roll their eyes at the word "darling"), but my sewing time is at a premium due to the demands of the littlest kidlets (ages 2 years, 7 months and 7 months). I just have to be sneaky!

Thanks for your fun comments, cheerful attitude, detailed instructions, and creative ideas – and best of wishes for your coming little one! Pregnancy with toddlers is always a challenge, but such joy. :)

I'd love the Abigail bootie pattern – I've been meaning to buy it for a while now. And those scarves and bags are all so cute!

I'm expecting my first baby in about 5 weeks, and while I can't wait to meet her, I'd like time to slow down a little. It's going so fast and I've got so much to do!

I love all your adorable craftiness, but sure am partial to one of the ruffled scarves!

I'm sitting home for the 2nd day in a row with two sick kids and one (so-far) healthy toddler. We're all going a little stir crazy! 8 days until Christmas and I can't run any of my 100 errands! Guess I'll try to put my time to use doing things around the house to prepare…..

Anyway, thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

I would love either the Darla Purse (would make for a great grab n go bag with all the small baby things) OR one of the patterns… I can't wait for my lil guy to get here so I can start making things for him to wear!! He's due in January so here's to just a few more weeks.

My story for the day… we got 2 new puppies last night.. Chiweenies. and I gotta tell you – it's good practice for what's to come with Baby Gabe… but holy canoly. I could use some sleep right now lol.

My favorites are the scarves and the sling purse, but I like it all!
My craftiness these days is mostly limited to things I can work on after the kids are in bed (2 boys and a girl ages 4,2,10 months). The only problem is that by then, I'm too tired to get much done! The hat I've been knitting for my aunt has been in progress for a month now.

One of each please? Ha. No, I think I would pick one of the patterns. Now picking only one of those? That's asking too much.

A little something? When my three-year-old daughter is acting naughty (which has been all too frequent lately) I tell her, "Marie, Santa is watching." She instantly replies, "Like in the song! You better watch out, you better not cry….." and walks away singing it. I'm still trying to figure out if my method is effective or not.

    Merry Christmas!

Oh, I just love that red ruffled scarf! I love red anything this time of year, but throw in a cozy neck and ruffles… well!

I teach third grade and today is the last day of school before the break. I'm actually sitting in my classroom, finishing my first cup of coffee and checking my favorite blogs before my day starts. Today will be exciting – kids will come in wearing santa hats, some will have precious homemade holiday cards to give me. We'll see our kindergarten buddies and when it's time to leave my kids will gleefully shout, "See you next year!" Today I'll surprise them with a special Fun Friday that everyone can come to, even if they forgot their homework, just to show them how much I love to watch them have fun. And at the end of the day I'll give each child a pile of books from our classroom library to enjoy over the break, every child will give me a hug or a handshake, and my job will be done for 2010. :)

    Cyndi says:

I am loving both of those scarves – color is not an issue – those are adorable!

And the fun part – I have a little friend (she's 3) she lives outside of the city and we were talking about her home being a farm, but she doesn't have a cow – so in order for her house be a farm she would get up each morning and moo….Her dad would be the farm bear and he would growl each morning. I saw her last night and asked her about her farm and if she'd mooed that morning. She said she hadn't and then I asked about her dad and said, "Did he growl this morning." She just looked at me a moment and said, "Well he didn't growl THIS MORNING!" Then she was telling my DS how her dad had growled all day long! She was so funny.

I absolutely love the sling purse! I bookmarked it to make but just don't have the time. It would be nice to win it.

Random tidbit, my 3 yr old son got a garbage truck a few months ago. We have played with it every day all day since then. The only time he stops playing is when the real garbage man comes. It's gotten kinda old for me, but I love to see him happy. It is the best gift I have ever gotten him. You know, those gifts that parents buy and they never make it out of the box? Well, this one was certainly worth the money.

My funny story for the day is that I have 3 kids 3 and under. I was taking my oldest to preschool this morning and had just gotten them all in the van when I noticed my keys weren't in the ignition. When I went to go back inside, I realized that my son had locked the door behind him. So we were locked out of our house and had to stay in our van for 1/2 hr while we waited for my husband to come home and let us in. But what makes it worse is that when he got there he didn't have a key on his key ring either!! So we had to call my mom to bring her spare key :-)

So how about this for a random bit of trivia: as a child of 3, I was pecked on the head by a rooster on our family farm as I was gathering eggs. We enjoyed a great chicken salad the next day and 36 years later, I still have the scar. :) Remember – you said to tell you anything!

Hmmmm. It's hard to choose just one thing, because all of your products are GORGEOUS.

But, I'd have to say….one of the zippered pouches–the grayish one with the yellow flower. ADORABLE. :)

Now on to the random commentary:
I just started to sew earlier this year and I am in love and am learning so many things. I just made my niece a dress that actually fits her and she's able to wear–I'm shocked I was able to pull that off! Now, i'm just excited for the day I have kids and I can shower them with cute things I've made them. (Unfortunately, that day is very far away. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 years and thinking about engagement, but I'd rather not get married until i'm 26 or so…at least in the 5 years I can practice my sewing skills, right?) hehehe. :)

I am so excited to give my gifts for Christmas this year because my family is trying to do everything handmade. One of the gifts I did for everyone is homemade vanilla extract. I found a great place to buy vanilla beans online and to make the extract you have to soak the beans in an alcohol solution, specifically, vodka. Well, I've never purchased alcohol before, so when I put it in my cart I kind of tried to hide it just in case I saw someone I knew. Then, when the cashier asked for my ID, I'm sure my face was bright red. Anyway, the beans have been soaking for a couple of months & it is getting close to being ready to use. I can't wait to see the reactions of my family when they see that I made vanilla extract for them!

Gosh, where to begin…. Well my name is Jen (nice to meet you). I LOVE your blog and am anxiously waiting for Christmas to be over to try so many of your tutorials. Mostly the baby ones as I am currently baby obsessed with my second on the way. I'm thinking it's a boy so hopefully all the blue things I make will be put to use (my daughter looks great in blue so it won't be a loss)!

I'd love to win numerous of these items so I will list them and if I get chosed you can just pick one!

any of the pattern choices, the darla purse, zipper pouch or the gift card cozies. You are TOO awesome!

oh I would love ANY of that….are you kidding me????? What a fun giveaway!!!

Well, what will I say hmmm….I have been pretty stressed out with all of my projects looming and I just thought a couple of days ago….we need to just pick up and get away for a night. So I checked out Priceline and got a Marriott room in the cozy quaint town of Park City for $70……we are going with out 4 little kids that range from ages 2 to 6 and we are going to get totally cozy and have a break from the craziness and then go sledding the next day. It's fun memories like this that I remember as a kid. We are going to give them their much anticipated "PILLOW PETS" (that every mom has heard the infomercial for) and we are going to get them into the room before they get there, with a note from Santa saying that they had been extra good. THEY. ARE. GOING. TO. DIE. I can't wait!!! What a fun blog you have, the girls over here at thecrafingchicks.com ADORE your stuff! Now go get cozy yourself :)

you're crafty AND generous!? that's amazing. I'd love a purse or pouch or pattern (and not just because they all start with a "p")… and about something fun? well, i just today realized i did a better job of prepping my 2.5 year old for Halloween than Christmas… he keeps saying "Ho ho ho, trick or treat!" and telling us that he wants to dress up as Dash for Santa… i'm enjoying it now, though. Because next year, i think it'll be a different story!

I'm hiding in our office, rocking out to Shinedown (still in my PJ's) while the kiddos are watching a movie. I'm waiting for pics to upload to Walmart.com, I need to go pick them up tonight after I drop of the kiddos at my mom's for a sleepover! {{YAY!!!}} She's keeping them so that I can make a couple of things for their Christmas presents. I'm making them each a mini scrapbook and a rice bag to warm up their beds at night. It gets cold here in Idaho!

So on Wednesday, the hubs and I went out for dinner, and we decided to forgo grocery shopping. Good thing, because on our way home, the roads iced over before our very eyes! (and in Atlanta, where we live, there are maybe 2 sand trucks that go through the non-interstate roads). I slid down a hill for a good block, only to stop just a couple feet behind a shiny new Lexus. Phew! Heart. Racing. Up the next hill, a car was completely stuck, couldn't move, In the middle of a six-lane road. Anyway, needless to say, I'm from MN, and I was freaked! But we ended up at home safely. A true Christmas miracle! :)

Now to chat! Here's a few questions I've really been wanting to ask… well just about anyone with a blog. Do you ever feel a bit nervous about sharing so much personal info with strangers? I keep thinking of all the fun sewing projects I make, the little crafts I like to do, the funny things my kids say and do during the day, and want to record them, and even want to share, but am extremely hesitant about being so open. Is it a touch of vanity saying "look at what I can do. take time out of your day to visit and see what I'm up to."? I personally fully enjoy reading your blog and the blogs of others. I have learned so many little tips and ideas and have loved incorporating them into my sewing arsenal. Still, just a bit nervous and self concious about attempting to share myself. Also, kid safety. How do you make sure you keep the little ones annonymous, yet share their accomplishments?

    Thanks for listening!

I'm sitting here at the computer ignoring the oldest who "doesn't want to be alone" which seems really odd since some days that's my greatest desire.

And, I almost had my first pair of nice sewing scissors for Christmas (Gingher) and then the hubby returned them promising what he had in mind was even better. I'm having a hard time imagining something better, but he says that's why he's a genius. He thought of something I don't even know I Love. So my anticipation for Christmas Day is mounting and I dream about very nice scissors and what could possibly be better.

When I saw the title I figured you were giving away scraps and such, which would of been cool in and of itself, but completely finished projects ready to go is awesome! I like all of them. We just moved and the craft room is still a disaster. It became the catchall for everything that didn't go anywhere else… extra pieces of art, random useless technology (old cell phones and such), craft supplies that I forgot I had, and all our Christmas presents too. My sewing machine hasn't emerged from the case yet and it doesn't have a clean surface to sit on yet.

HI! I'd love one of the patterns.

What to tell you? Honestly, I'm having trouble getting pregnant for the 2nd time. I'm trying to stay positive and hopeful but it's getting hard since almost every single one of my friends have announced their own pregnancies or given birth recently. Anyway, I'm trying to keep busy to keep my mind off of it so a new pattern would do me some good (and enable me to give all my pregnant friends fun gifts for their new babies instead of just sitting around being jealous of them). So there you go.

I love them all, but particularly the scarves and the tie pattern. With three little men, I would definitely get some good mileage out of that!

My sweet little twin boys started sleeping through the night at 7ish weeks (Happy mommy!) so I started running again, and though it's killing me, I love it.

My email address is on my profile.

I would love the abigail booties pattern! second place is a scarf – either color :)

Fun part – Every year on December 1, my family reads a story that corresponds with one of my favorite traditions – We have a little baby cradle and a glass jar of straw that we get out at Christmastime. Every Sunday we put all our names in a hat and draw one out. Whoever's name you draw is the person you serve all week! Well, you serve everyone around you, but especially that person – and don't tell who you picked! It's a secret :) Every time you do a service for someone, you put one of the straws in the cradle so that on Christmas Eve when Jesus comes, He has a soft bed to lay in. I love this tradition so much! It helps us recognize the service that we and others do and is so fun to see our little cradle fill up! Merry Christmas! :)

I really want the Abigail baby booties pattern. I've wanted it for ages but couldn't justify it since my little one is too big for them.
I have made lots of your little ties and they're always a big hit.

Everything here is so amazing! I would especially love one of your patterns though. ANY of them! They are all so cute!

I am live Idaho (and by the craft stores that you used to go to for crafting supplies I'm guessing it is somewhere near where you used to live!) This holiday season really special to me because on Jan 4 we are moving 4 hours away and both my husband's and my family live here. It's bitter sweet. 4 hours really isn't that far (closer than you, right?) but we've also never lived away from grandmas and grandpas, the kids will really miss them!

What a great little Christmas gift to your readers! I love love love the scarfs with the ruffles. But let's b honest, all of your stuff is super cute!

I have been labeled a "bad looker" by my husband and mother. Not as in ugly, but as it looking for something that is lost. Yesterday was a perfect example of my bad lookiness. I was making some flowers for headbands and needed my hot glue gun. I figured it was one of the many craft bags I have. I searched high and low went through all my bags, had pretty much given up. I decided to look in one of my bags to see if I could find some thread when there it was! My hot glue gun wrapped up in a bunch of tulle. Whew! I guess I have to be looking for something else in order to find what I really want ha.

What an awesome giveaway! How generous of you! I would love a pattern, those booties are so cute!

It's funny that I'm constantly going over things in my head, but as soon as I want to say something interesting- nothing. So… my favorite holiday candies are those peppermint puffs- the ones that are like those after-dinner mints. Holy cow, I could go through a big container of those in a day by myself. Delicious!

Ok my dear. I am craving that red scarf or the beautiful purse.

Here's my something, anything. I quit my job last week to stay home with my son and it is terrifying! The loss of a (rather good) income and the fact that this one year old is in total control throws me over the edge. And honestly? This is WAAAAAAY harder than my old job. But boy when he wraps his chubby arms around my neck and nuzzles his head into me…..worth it.

I love the Darla Purse, but those patterns for the booties and ties are tempting as well – along with pretty much everything else you make. Something about me – my favorite ornaments on my Christmas tree are my Gone with the Wind figurines. I love them and could sit and stare at them all day.

Something to share . . . . My son is a Christmas Eve baby (he'll be five this year) and yesterday he says to me "Mom, why does everyone put lights on their house for my birthday?" I just laughed – so cute!

I've always loved your patterns, but the Darla purse and that red scarf is just calling my name ;) So hard to choose.

I baked like 15 dozen cookies last night, and 10 loaves of Eggnog Bread. I always wait until the last minute. So today I think I'll just chill out with some coffee and worry about all the college placement tests I need to take next week. ;)

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and thanks for the generous giveaway!

    Kimberly says:

My first choice would be one of the scarves. So cute! Otherwise, I wouldn't mind a pattern. :)

Something Fun: I rarely ever watch Talent type shows on tv but I just discovered a new one that is so cool! It's called the Sing-Off. It's only 5 nights and it's all musical groups that sing in…Acapella. Some of these groups are just awesome! It takes a special talent to sing without instruments.

Well, there are plenty of things I could say, but I think the best thing for the moment (that's not a downer), would be to tell you how grateful I am for my Savior. He has been with me through some really rough times and even rougher times are ahead. I'm just blessed to have the Lord to carry me through. This is a beautiful time of year to remember Him and give thanks to him and our Heavenly Father. Thanks for considering me in your giveaway. :) Have a happy holiday season!

Something about me…I just learned how to crochet last week. And in one week, I've made 9 hats, a scarf, umpteen crocheted flowers, and an Ipod cozy. You might say I'm "hooked", LOL.
