Rub ‘n Buff…….a great way to transform your decor.
Just a reminder…..these are scheduled posts and I am actually out of town for a few days. Click here for more info. If you are waiting for a reply from email, I will be back on June 26th.

I have this little brown box that had a cool little design carved into the top. I wanted to add it to one of my shelves but the color blended into the things around it.
So I got a tube of gold leaf Rub ‘n Buff…..to add a little pop.
So glad I did.
Rub ‘n Buff is a very light wax-metallic finish that you can add to any surface to give it a whole new look. You can use it to antique something, use it as a stencil, or restore an old wood or metal piece that you have stashed away. Rub ‘n Buff is different from just spray painting because it gives a shiny and brilliant coat of color and is applied in a very thin layer. Rub ‘n Buff can be found here.
Here is my little wooden box beforehand:
All I did what take small dots of this cream and rub it all over the box with my finger. A little goes a loooooong way.
Then I let it dry…….and then buffed it a bit with a soft cloth.
I love how the dark box shines through in some places and the dark behind the carving really allows the carving to pop. Worked great!
I have 4 more colors to try out. I think I’ll do a picture frame, or a candle stick, or hmmm…..what else can I get my hands on??
What a great way to antique an item or add some serious shine to something that spray paint simply can’t do.

I would love to see what this does on wicker. I have some dated wicker boxes that I love {but don't love} and I've been thinking of painting them, but don't like the idea of spray paint.
I'm loving things that have Rub 'n Buff on it! I think it turned out great! Have a great day! ~ Laura
I've been wanting to try this…now I will!
this looks a lot nicer than I thought it might! Thanks for showing me how!
oh sweet! I am definitely going to try that – looks so pretty! thanks!
Oooh neat! I am looking around my living room now for something to transform! :)
I have an old antique mirror that I'm refinishing! A touch of gold to the new paint color will really add some pop! Thanks for the tip!
That is really cool. I have a few things I'd like to try this on.
Wow, it looks great and the photo shows you still have a lot left. Excellent!
So easy! I have some dark and dated candelabras that I think I'll try with the white or turquoise.
LOVE this! Will have to try it out myself. I just found your blog and became a follower. I look forward to coming back and reading future posts (:

Looks fabulous!
Ah Ha! I have 2 boxes almost like that. That is a great idea. Since I’ve had them forever, I think I will use your idea. It will be like I bought 2 new boxes. Thanks for sharing ٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶
